Legacy Products Shape Future Display Modules
Customers started using SLCD+, SLCD43 and SLCD6 display modules as far back as 2003. In April 2023, the Renesas processor used in these display modules reached End of Life. Customers were offered a Last Time Buy, see details in Product Change Notification 000041. Read more about our approach to Long-Term Supply.
As mentioned above, our team is working on new 4.3″ display modules to be released this year. These drop-in, form-fit-function replacements will have minimal impact on customer hardware and software. This means you can start with a Development Kit now and transition to the new modules when they become available. Please contact us with any questions about this timeline and process.

Grounding
The board mounting holes connect to a digital ground. These must be connected to a chassis ground either directly or through a transient protection diode for ESD. The resistive touch circuit has ESD protection that shorts ESD on the touch panel to the board mounting holes.

Fonts
Display modules come with standard fonts. Get additional fonts from the Fonts Library, which contains fonts with extensive support for non-English (Latin) character sets. Use BMPload to program the display module.
